well circumscribed Term used to describe a lesion whose borders are specifically defined, and in which one can clearly see the exact margins and extent; well defined (well delineated) border.
wisdom teeth the third set of molars that usually erupt when a person is 18-25 years of age
white The color resulting from commingling of all the rays of the spectrum.
white sponge nevus Relatively rare autosomal dominant hereditary condition in which the oral mucosa is white, thickened, and folded.
whitlow An infection involving the distal phalanx of a finger.
wax pattern a wax form that is the positive likeness of an object to be fabricated
Whitening A process that lightens the color of teeth
Wisdom Teeth The third set of molars, the last teeth to come in, usually erupt at age 18-25
Wax-Up A wax form that is a model of an object to be fabricated.
Wisdom Teeth The third molar, or eighth tooth from the center of mouth to the back of the mouth. Wisdom teeth are often impacted (obstructed from erupting) and have to be extracted. They usually erupt at age 18-25 (when “wisdom is attained”). See Third Molar.

zygomycosis Opportunistic, frequently fulminant, fungal infection that is caused by normally saprobic organisms of the class Zygomycetes.
Zygoma The area formed by the union of the zygomatic bone and the zygomatic process of the temporal and maxillary bones, used for support of the subperiosteal implant.
